Waller ISD is growing, bringing exciting opportunities for students in The Grand Prairie. A brand-new, state-of-the-art high school is set to break ground soon, providing a top-tier learning environment for future generations with a new Waller ISD high school.
New Waller ISD High School
Located just minutes from The Grand Prairie, Warren Ranch High School will honor the rich legacy of Warren Ranch. The school’s design will incorporate the historic WE brand symbol, reflecting the ranch’s long-standing values of pride, ethics, hard work, and innovation.
Warren Ranch High School will continue the comprehensive academic program found at Waller High School. Serving a wide variety of learning styles and interests, the program ranges from dual credit and Advanced Placement courses to Tech-Prep School-to-Work programs ensuring each student is prepared for post-graduation success. Beyond core academics, high school students can explore their interests through UIL competitions, Junior ROTC, extra-curricular clubs, and more. Student athletes can compete in soccer, golf, tennis, powerlifting, wrestling, and the more traditional sports programs. Classes and extra-curricular activities are available in band, choir, theater, and speech and debate.
The selection of a historically significant name for Warren Ranch High School marks the beginning of a new tradition for Waller ISD, which plans to introduce four new schools in the coming years. Established in 1883, Warren Ranch has deep ties to the district, spanning seven generations, with three members of the Warren family serving on Waller ISD’s Board of Trustees.
Waller ISD School District Updates
According to district updates, Warren Ranch High School is expected to open in 2028. Its construction was made possible by a bond package approved by voters in November 2024. The package also funds a new junior high near The Grand Prairie, slated to begin construction next year with a potential opening in August 2029, as well as two new elementary schools. While elementary school locations and timelines are still being determined, The Grand Prairie master plan includes a designated school site.
