The newest amenity in The Grand Prairie is now open, and it’s a tall one!
The Overlook rises 40 feet above Lake Ember, giving those hiking to its summit a panoramic 360-degree view of The Grand Prairie and beyond. Residents and the public are invited to traverse the spiraling sidewalk that leads you to the top to take in the sights and snap a photo. If you’d like, stay a while — bring a good book or a picnic lunch to enjoy the new amenity in Hockley, now open. If sunsets (or sunrises) are your thing, they don’t get any better than at The Overlook. Even better? A beautiful shade structure is coming soon to the top of the hill, making those moments even more inspiring and comfortable year-round.
Hockley Overlook Now Open
This towering amenity helps represent the focus on nature and all its benefits you’ll find when you make your home in The Grand Prairie. Walkability is central to The Grand Prairie lifestyle, with more than 20 miles of planned trails meandering through the community. Amenities encourage outdoor recreation, with lakes for fishing, kayaking, and skipping stones. Neighborhood parks and playgrounds are meant to make friends and memories, and the more than 450+ acres of green space enable friendly games of soccer or simply let you kick off your shoes and breathe in the fresh air.
Coming soon is The Starlight, a 3.6-acre amenity complex that offers even more ways to enjoy the great outdoors, with a splash park, pickleball courts, playground, resort-style pool with swim lanes, and an open-air pavilion. Its bright possibilities will be eclipsed only by The Sundancer, offering more than 6 acres of “let’s do it again tomorrow” fun. A 6,700-square-foot amenity center — complete with floor-to-ceiling windows to capture outdoor views — anchors the campus that will include two resort-style pools, a splash park, playground, zip line, and event lawn. The Sundancer will also provide access to the 70-acre Lake Ember.
Together, The Overlook, trails, lakes, and future amenities are designed to foster community connection, delivering the all-important feeling of “I belong here.”
